Let's get physical

Mike and I have been exercising for the past 3 months. Every morning we wake up at 5:30 am and get to the gym by 6 am. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we do a 30-35 min walk/run and then lift weights. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and sometimes Saturdays we walk/run for 45 min.
Mike has signed up for the Isagenix body challenge. He could win a total of $10,000! Woo hoo! What great money to go towards adoption! He is half way through and has lost 85 lbs! He is doing so well! So keep your fingers crossed...
We raced in a 5K in the middle of December. I always thought that people were crazy running every day. But when you do a race, it's WAY more fun! I still don't like running during the week, but running for something makes it a little more fun! SO.....
We just signed up for two triathlons. The 1st is on May 15th in St. George. This will just be a sprint triathlon (.5 mile swim, 20K bike ride, and 5K run). The 2nd is on September 18th in St. George also (Kokopelli). This one will be an Olympic triathlon which is double the distance of a sprint! Are we crazy? I think so....

Lots O' Fun!

Talk about being at the right place at the right time! I took my neighbors some goodies I made so I didn't have them in my house anymore and it just so happened she is a scuba diver for the Le Reve show at the Wynn. She had extra tickets for that night and she gave them to me! Michael wasn't feeling good and had to work in the morning so I took Liz. It was way fun! We also got free flat bread pizza at a little restaurant. We were able to walk around a little and the floors were awesome! We decided to start collecting all our extra broken plates to turn our floors into masterpieces!

On Thanksgiving day Michael played football with ours and Mountain's Edge ward. He is so funny. He can push you with one finger and you'd go flying. So that's what he did with one guy and they guy flew backwards and fell. It was kinda funny.
After that game Michael and I went to play football with our friends. It was fun...and we won! Then we hung out with Michael's mom, her husband Chris and his mom. It was nice hanging out with them.
After that we went to my family's house and hung out with them for a little bit. It was a nice Thanksgiving!

Then on Saturday we were able to go to the UNLV vs. SDSU game. Michael never likes to go to or watch the games because he thinks he is their curse. Well not this time. WE WON 28 to 24! Go Rebels! Maybe Erik and Amy cancelled out the curse...

She's Crafty!

I have begun my journey of trying to be crafty. It is hard work, but I feel very accomplished! Here are some of the things I've made so far:
Drawstring bags for kids (perfect for church items)
Picture Frames!
Hot/Cold rice bags for those pesky headaches or muscle aches.

This is one of two quilts. The second quilt was getting ready to be done, when cute little Tippy came along and decided to eat the batting in the middle! She ruined 3 of the squares and I had to change the pattern because I didn't have enough of one fabric. Needless to say, I am done making quilts and will focus on the other items instead!

Garage Sale

Mountain's Edge is having a community garage sale Saturday October 3, 2009. We will be participating in it. So far we have: TONS of baby girl clothes (sz. 0 months - 4T), women's clothes (mainly S - L), men's clothes (pants & shorts size 34 and M & L shirts), a girls bike, a chair, barstools, TOYS, crock pot, bed sheets, an animal cage, picture frames, books and MORE! Please let me know if you have anything you would like to donate to us so I can come and pick it up! Or come and visit us during the sale! I do realize this is during General Conference, but Mike and I are going to record it and watch it later (and I know many of you do the same)!
We're also going to be making things (bath salts, hot/cold rice bags, baby blankets, toddler bags and stuffed animals) and selling them at Reedom Elementary Schools Arts & Crafts Festival on November 14. Come on down and get your Christmas presents early!

Fundraising for a cause

Michael and I recently found out that there is a next-to-nothing chance of ever getting pregnant. So after 2 1/2 years of trying, we can now move on and try to adopt! As some of you know, adoption costs a lot of money so we are going to try to raise money! I have been thinking about doing a garage/arts & crafts sale. Since we have the only house on our street, I thought it would be fun to set up like an arts & crafts fair on our street. The only problem: I'm not super crafty. I am going to hopefully make some stuffed animals and bath supplies, but I'm wondering if anyone out there would like to help us out and sell their stuff and donate to our adoption cause. I'm hoping to do the sale sometime in November or December. Please let me know if you're interested in donating household items, crafty items or your time for this. We appreciate all your love and support in our endeavors!

Movin on up

Michael and I have decided to join the real world and get cable TV and internet. I know this sounds like a joke as most of you know we have never had any of these since we've been married (almost 5 years). I'd like to thank the Sparti's for letting us "use" their internet. We appreciated it! Now whenever someone stays at our house, they will not go into TV withdrawals...

Vacay #2

Michael and I went back to California for another week and stayed with Ben & Heidi again. We had tons of fun! Of course we played games, ate lots of delicious food and car shopped (Heidi needs a van to fit her 3 children she will have in 2 months), but Heidi and I had a relaxing getaway. First, we went to get foot massages. Since Heidi's pregnant a foot massage sounded wonderful and I like any massage. We found a place for $20/hour and felt kind of sketchy about it. We got to the place and it was pretty cute. We sat next to each other in reclining seats and got our feet soaked in warm water. Then each of our masseuses started taking our ponytails out. Heidi and I were both like "Ok..." and they started massaging our heads. This was wonderful as I was thinking about getting a head/neck massage at Massage Envy for $39. After they massaged our heads, they went to our arms, our legs, our feet, and then our backs. The whole time I was thinking "I wonder how much this is going to cost as I only wanted a $20 foot massage." When they were done we felt great! We went to pay and sure enough it was only $20! So we gave them $10 tip. Our whole body massage was only $30! The next day we went to the Career Academy of Beauty and treated ourselves to pedicures and facials! The lady who did my pedicure filed my toe off, but I got a pretty blue/green color. The facial was wonderful! It felt WAY good! They used Dermalogica and it smells the same as Orgins (which I love).
Then the next day we went and got another massage! It was so awesome! I wish there was a place like that here in Vegas! The boys also had a good time. They went to many different game stores and Michael is now a Magic addict (thanks Ben)! I just don't get the game. It's fun but not addicting fun. Ben & Heidi's kids had a BLAST with Tippy! Here are some fun pictures. Sam's the one in the underwear and Trenton's the one in just his shirt and diaper.

Vacay

So we went on a week long vacation to California! We first went to San Luis Obispo and watched my brother Chris and Sarah get married. It was pretty exciting as it was outside on one of the beaches my family used to go to ALL the time; Avila Beach. The weather was amazing up until it got too dark to see what was going on and then it was cold.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites and it was an awesome hotel. They had the best continental breakfast ever! Omeletes, different types of breads, cereals, drinks, pancakes, bacon and potatoes. We brought Tippy along with us and she did rather well. When we got home from the wedding, she had broken out of her crate and was sitting on one of the hotel chairs. She wouldn't sleep on the extra bed by herself, so I slept on the bed with Tippy and Michael had the other bed to himself. Talk about spoiled!
On Friday we walked around Avila Beach and then took Tippy to Pismo Beach. She was terrified of the water but loved to walk on the sand.

On Saturday we went to Avila Valley Barn and bought my favorite Peach Cobbler! Delicious!! We also bought some most delicious salsa: peach mango habanero salsa, black bean and corn salsa, and peach chipotle salsa. They were all awesome! Then we went to Apple Farm Restaurant and had some home-made cooking. It was all so good. That night we went on a walk down Avila Beach with my dad and his dog Jax. Tippy and Jax had a good time.
On Sunday (I know we are so bad) we went to the gamer convention that was being held in our hotel! We bought Alhambra, Puerto Rico, Cave Troll and The Good, the Bad and the Munchkin. All these games were 1/2 off! That is almost impossible to come across! We were so excited!
At 12 we headed out towards Huntington Beach. We went and stayed with Ben & Heidi (Heidi is Michael's cousin). They have 2 little boys (Sam is almost 4 and Trenton is almost 2). Sam and Tippy fell in love. Tippy would walk Sam out to the bus each morning and when Sam came home the first thing he said was "Where's my Tippy?" It was super cute and also nice as he kept her entertained. Ben, Heidi, Michael and I played board games for 3 straight days. I got really sick of thinking games pretty quickly. But we all had a ton of fun! Yay for vacation!
PS. We are going to visit Ben & Heidi again from August 1-6! We are crazy but way excited!

I spy with my little eye...

A dog who is going poo on my front lawn!!! I have been waiting for this day for a LONG time. Let me give you a little background info...we are the ONLY house on our street. There are not even empty houses, just us. When we moved in we noticed dog poo that was not from our dogs. I have been trying to find these people ever since. Well today was my lucky day! My dogs started freaking out and barking non-stop. Even Tippy was barking (and she only barks when she's playing with Spike and Billy). So I go outside and there the dog is, squatting in my lawn. I go straight out front and see the lady and her two dogs walking away.

Me: Excuse me. Did your dog just poop in my yard?
Lady: Oh no, they always go in the dirt around here.
Me: Then why did I see your dog pooping in my lawn just now?
Lady: Did he?
She walks over and I show her the nasty brand new poo.
Lady: Oh my, he did...do you have a bag, I just used my only one. (Yeah right)
Me: Of course, let me get you one.

OH MAN! This made my day! I better not see any more poo!!

Losin' LBs

So Michael and I have started Isagenix and have been losing weight and feeling great (I'm a nerd, I know)! We started May 22 and here are our results so far:

Heather: Lost 11 pounds and 21 total inches (it kind of makes me sad I had 21 inches - and still some- to lose)!

Michael: Lost 29 pounds (and counting!) He is NOT good about measuring himself so I don't know how many inches he's lost, but I am making him do it at day 30, so stay posted!

What's Isagenix you ask? Go to our website and check it out!

Tippy

Here are some fun pictures of Tippy!

Random

Sometimes I wonder where bruises or scratches that I have came from. Sometimes I remember thinking "Oh man, that's gonna leave a mark." But I can never remember what happened to make me say that. So this day was not any different than the rest. I was doing something and my shin/ankle kind of hurt. So I look at it and this is what I find:

This is a HUGE bruise that was 2 1/2" long! Where did it come from? Who knows...but nonetheless, I was proud of it!

Meet Tippy!

Here is the newest addition to our family, Tippy! (What happened to the name Luna you ask? Well, Michael didn't really like that name, but I did. He liked the name Minnie and I didn't really like that one. So we thought of a name we both liked...good job Michael) She is super cute and adorable and loves to snuggle! She is a bull mastif so she won't be tiny for very long! Billy and her are getting to be pretty good friends, but Spike (the punk that he is) does NOT like her. Although, I think he is warming up to her. After all, They both like to play!

New House Stuff

Here is our brand new couch! Michael and I are SO excited! Now we can both lay down at the same time!
We got a little crazy and also bought a new Plasma TV!! It is much easier to move than our stupid old tube TV. (I like how you can see me in the reflection of the TV)

Deanna's Wedding

Michael's sister Deanna got married Jan. 24. Michael's cousin Heidi and her husband came and stayed with us. Heidi and I went dancing, we ate at the Red Rock Station buffet which was pretty good, we stayed up until 5 am playing games, and we went to the Green Valley Station buffet (not as good). We were all deliriously happy from not getting very much sleep, but we all had a great time!

Provo

For the new year Mike and I went to Provo to visit Trevor, Spring & Bode. It was fun! We "shopped," ate, and went to Sundance. I got some suckers (I LOVE candy!) and they were fantastic! I had cherry, boysenberry and caramel apple. Mike had peppermint and orange cream. They were the best home-made suckers I've ever had! Yummm....
