She's Crafty!

I have begun my journey of trying to be crafty. It is hard work, but I feel very accomplished! Here are some of the things I've made so far:
Drawstring bags for kids (perfect for church items)
Picture Frames!
Hot/Cold rice bags for those pesky headaches or muscle aches.

This is one of two quilts. The second quilt was getting ready to be done, when cute little Tippy came along and decided to eat the batting in the middle! She ruined 3 of the squares and I had to change the pattern because I didn't have enough of one fabric. Needless to say, I am done making quilts and will focus on the other items instead!

Garage Sale

Mountain's Edge is having a community garage sale Saturday October 3, 2009. We will be participating in it. So far we have: TONS of baby girl clothes (sz. 0 months - 4T), women's clothes (mainly S - L), men's clothes (pants & shorts size 34 and M & L shirts), a girls bike, a chair, barstools, TOYS, crock pot, bed sheets, an animal cage, picture frames, books and MORE! Please let me know if you have anything you would like to donate to us so I can come and pick it up! Or come and visit us during the sale! I do realize this is during General Conference, but Mike and I are going to record it and watch it later (and I know many of you do the same)!
We're also going to be making things (bath salts, hot/cold rice bags, baby blankets, toddler bags and stuffed animals) and selling them at Reedom Elementary Schools Arts & Crafts Festival on November 14. Come on down and get your Christmas presents early!

Fundraising for a cause

Michael and I recently found out that there is a next-to-nothing chance of ever getting pregnant. So after 2 1/2 years of trying, we can now move on and try to adopt! As some of you know, adoption costs a lot of money so we are going to try to raise money! I have been thinking about doing a garage/arts & crafts sale. Since we have the only house on our street, I thought it would be fun to set up like an arts & crafts fair on our street. The only problem: I'm not super crafty. I am going to hopefully make some stuffed animals and bath supplies, but I'm wondering if anyone out there would like to help us out and sell their stuff and donate to our adoption cause. I'm hoping to do the sale sometime in November or December. Please let me know if you're interested in donating household items, crafty items or your time for this. We appreciate all your love and support in our endeavors!

Movin on up

Michael and I have decided to join the real world and get cable TV and internet. I know this sounds like a joke as most of you know we have never had any of these since we've been married (almost 5 years). I'd like to thank the Sparti's for letting us "use" their internet. We appreciated it! Now whenever someone stays at our house, they will not go into TV withdrawals...

Vacay #2

Michael and I went back to California for another week and stayed with Ben & Heidi again. We had tons of fun! Of course we played games, ate lots of delicious food and car shopped (Heidi needs a van to fit her 3 children she will have in 2 months), but Heidi and I had a relaxing getaway. First, we went to get foot massages. Since Heidi's pregnant a foot massage sounded wonderful and I like any massage. We found a place for $20/hour and felt kind of sketchy about it. We got to the place and it was pretty cute. We sat next to each other in reclining seats and got our feet soaked in warm water. Then each of our masseuses started taking our ponytails out. Heidi and I were both like "Ok..." and they started massaging our heads. This was wonderful as I was thinking about getting a head/neck massage at Massage Envy for $39. After they massaged our heads, they went to our arms, our legs, our feet, and then our backs. The whole time I was thinking "I wonder how much this is going to cost as I only wanted a $20 foot massage." When they were done we felt great! We went to pay and sure enough it was only $20! So we gave them $10 tip. Our whole body massage was only $30! The next day we went to the Career Academy of Beauty and treated ourselves to pedicures and facials! The lady who did my pedicure filed my toe off, but I got a pretty blue/green color. The facial was wonderful! It felt WAY good! They used Dermalogica and it smells the same as Orgins (which I love).
Then the next day we went and got another massage! It was so awesome! I wish there was a place like that here in Vegas! The boys also had a good time. They went to many different game stores and Michael is now a Magic addict (thanks Ben)! I just don't get the game. It's fun but not addicting fun. Ben & Heidi's kids had a BLAST with Tippy! Here are some fun pictures. Sam's the one in the underwear and Trenton's the one in just his shirt and diaper.
